AMY POEHLER: It’s satisfying to have a female relationship on TV that isn’t like, when one leaves, the other one is rolling their eyes, like “What an idiot.” It was important to Rashida and I to create a story of why these two would actually become friends, otherwise Leslie just seems like a cartoon, and Ann just seems like she doesn’t care about anything. We worked hard to figure out what it would be about the two of them in this small town where they would find each other. And I just think Leslie has a crush on Ann. A friendship crush.RASHIDA JONES: The feeling’s absolutely mutual. And it’s actually good representation of our life because I actually can’t get enough of Amy in real life.
